Is this the right floor cleaner for your facility?
- You scrub sealed floors (concrete, epoxy, tile, vinyl) where solution and recovery are both required.
- Your facility size and frequency of cleaning justify a self-propelled machine over manual mopping.
- You need consistent scrub pressure for grease, soil, or food-service residue removal.
- You want squeegee-and-vacuum recovery so floors are dry and walkable immediately after cleaning.
- You only need dry sweeping for loose debris. See SL1250 ride-on sweeper →
- Your floor is unsealed (raw concrete, gravel, dirt). Scrubbing solution will not be effective.
- Your facility is over 30,000 sq ft per shift, or you run multiple cleaning shifts daily. Step up to SS75-R ride-on →

What to put in the solution tank
The 55.0 L solution tank holds the formula the brushes apply. Fill it with water — hot water up to 60 °C is fine — plus a low-foam, pH-neutral commercial floor detergent, diluted to the ratio printed on the product label. The right choice depends on your floor type and soil level.
Daily neutral-pH cleaner
For everyday cleaning of sealed concrete, epoxy, polished concrete and tile. Low-foam, residue-free and safe for polished or coated finishes. Use the label's daily-clean dilution.
Low-foam alkaline degreaser
For grease and oil in food service, workshops and garages. Dilute stronger for heavy soil and test a small area first — not for polished or waxed finishes.
Autoscrubber-safe neutral disinfectant
For healthcare and food-prep areas, only if the label says low-foam and autoscrubber-compatible. Observe the product's required dwell time.
Plain hot water (≤ 60 °C)
For light maintenance and rinse passes. For stubborn dirt or grease, add a recommended commercial detergent rather than more foam.
- Use a low-foam, pH-neutral commercial floor detergent
- Follow the dilution ratio on the container
- Fill with water, up to 60 °C maximum
- Test a small area before treating the whole floor
- If foam builds up, add defoamer to the recovery tank
- High-foam, dish or household soaps — they flood the suction motor
- Bleach and chlorine products — corrosive to components
- Strong acids or acidic descalers
- Caustic, solvent or thinner-based products
- Flammable liquids
- Granular or powder detergent (e.g. washing powder) — voids the warranty
- Never mix chemicals together
Always follow the dilution and handling instructions on the product label. The wrong chemical can damage the machine and void the manufacturer warranty. Full guidance is in the operator manual (see Downloads below).
Replace the mop bucket. Recover the shift.
Manual mopping caps out around 1,500 sq ft per labour-hour and leaves a slip-risk window. The SS60 covers ~25,300 sq ft per machine-hour and leaves the floor squeegee-dry behind it.
